Philip Barkhudarov studied with Jón Þorsteinsson at the Conservatory of Utrecht in the Netherlands. Originally from Moscow, Russia, he grew up in New Mexico in the United States and holds a bachelor degree in physics and a masters degree in computer science from Utrecht University. Philip has sung in America, Europe, and Australia, and has sung such roles as Antinous in Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria, Sarastro in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte, Collatinus in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, and Christ in Bach’s St. Matthew Passion. Philip sings regularly with the Netherlands Radio Choir and Cappella Pratensis, among several other choirs and ensembles in the Netherlands. He is a founding member of Olga Vocal Ensemble and has toured with them in Europe, the United States, and Iceland.
